FIVE years ago a man had to be freed by firefighters after an unfortunate mishap with a wheelie bin.
Janet Gregory, then 80, was watching Paul O’Grady’s For The Love Of Dogs but was shocked when she peered out of her window and saw a man in his early 20s stuck in her waste container.
Wearing just boxers he had become lodged in the bin up to his chest and had his lower legs bent behind him.
Because he was barely clothed, his skin caused friction against the sides of the bin as he tried to get out.
Fire crews attended the scene in Horsham at about 9pm and cut him free with a small electric saw.
Janet said: “Someone brought him a dressing gown to keep him warm. He was a bit groggy when they got him out.
“You couldn’t make this story up.”
