A FIRE engine crashed into the station door during a call out.
It happened this morning at Roedean Community Fire Station, Brighton, while the engine was on its way to an incident on Eastern Road.
It was supported by a fire engine from Preston Circus but the incident turned out to be a false alarm caused by dust from contractors.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are looking into how the ladder on top of a fire engine became stuck on a fire station door today.
"Initial information suggests the fire engine from Seaford was clipped by the closing door as it followed a fire engine from Roedean out of the door at Roedean Community Fire Station.
"The door has been damaged.
"A full investigation will be carried out.
"It should be noted that the Service has had a significant reduction in incidents like this over recent years."
