A PENSIONER has been spared prison after dozens of indecent images were found on his computer.
John Baxter had 53 sick images at his home in Peacehaven.
At Brighton Magistrates’ Court the 69-year-old admitted having the images.
He was given a six month suspended prison sentence.
District Judge Tessa Szagun said the number of images he possessed justified a custodial term.
She ordered Baxter to complete six months of alcohol treatment and complete a 30-day programme for his alcohol abuse.
Baxter, of South Coast Road, Peacehaven, must also meet with the probation service, and will be under supervision for two years.
Judge Szagun imposed a sexual harm prevention order for seven years. It will restrict Baxter’s access computers and images without police permission and monitoring. He must also pay a £115 surcharge and £85 costs.
