THERE were long delays on a main road in Brighton yesterday after a crash.
Emergency services dealt with the incident in Marine Parade.
A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at about 5.45pm to a crash involving a car and a bicycle at the junction between Eastern Road and Sussex Square in Brighton.
"One ambulance crew attended the scene.
"A male was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
"He suffered inhuries including a leg injury."
A Sussex Police spokesman said these were "minor injuries".
Both sides of the road are closed by Sussex Square.
At the time a Brighton and Hove Buses spokesman said: "The diversion eastbound is now via Rock Gardens, Edward Street, Eastern Road and Arundel Road.
"There is extremely heavy congestion and buses are likely to be heavily delayed. Please accept our apologies."
An AA spokesman said: "The road is blocked and there is slow traffic due to an accident involving a car and a cyclist on the A259 Marine Parade both ways near Sussex Square."
