A MAN has been charged after a man was attacked in the early hours at a supermarket.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was left in a critical condition after the incident and suffered “multiple serious head injuries”, police said.

The force revealed today that he remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The attack happened at the Asda store in Pegler Way, Crawley.

Steven McNamara, 28, of West Green Drive has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a class A drug.

He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

A Sussex Police spokesman: “We are still appealing for anyone with information or witnessed the assault to come forward to us without delay.
