I AM sure I am not the only person who was completely appalled at the prospect of the felling of the mature Scots pine tree at St. Peter’s Church, West Blatchington, Hove (The Argus 11/9/19).
Whilst nobody wants anyone to sustain an injury of any sort, surely there is a solution to this problem.
For instance, maybe protective headwear could temporarily be the answer until a different access to the church is found.
More thought needs to be taken before this magnificent tree has to meet its fate.
It would be a sacrilege to just cut it down when it has taken so many years to grow into a beautiful tree. Furthermore, there must be masses of these trees in different parkland areas, the grounds of stately homes and various other places open to the general public so I do hope all this needless felling does not create a precedent.
