KATIE Price claimed an Essex based gang had been planning to kidnap her, but their plot was foiled by police.
The former glamour model, 41, said cops visited her at home in Horsham earlier this week to tell her about the sinister plan.
She's been placed under "red" alert which means she only has to touch a button for them to rush to her aid in an emergency.
Katie told The Sun: "It's been horrible.
"The police were trying to get hold of me all week to tell me they’d discovered this threat against me, a plan to kidnap me.
"Their Intelligence guys have tracked down this gang in Romford, Essex, and have them under surveillance.
"I have been upgraded to a 'red' security alert which means I'm basically just a touch of a button away from contacting them in an emergency, if someone attacks me."
The mum-of-five has installed new security cameras around her mansion for extra protection.
She's also bought a £6,000 trained protection dog, an Alsatian called Blade.
