DETECTIVES have released CCTV images of a rape suspect.
Officers were called to the seafront at East Worthing on September 8.
The 26-year-old woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was walking along New Parade, off the A259 Brighton Road at 10.30pm.
She was approached by a man asking for directions, but he took her to the beach and raped her before walking away.
Now police have released images and a description of a man they wish to interview in connection with the incident.
He is in his early 20s, 5ft 8ins tall with a French crop hairstyle, curly on top with short sides.
Police say he is of “Mediterranean appearance” and wore green khaki jogging bottoms with stripes.
Detective Sergeant Steve Webb said anyone who recognises the man is asked to contact the force online or on 101, and quote Operation Neston.
Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
