A LARGE fire has broken out at a restaurant.

Six fire engines were called to the scene in North Parade, Horsham overnight on Tuesday.

People living in the area were advised to keep windows and doors closed.

A fire service spokesperson confirmed crews from Horsham, Crawley, Billingshurst and Henfield were called, along with a control unit from Haywards Heath.

They confirmed a food storage area was 100 per cent destroyed in the fire, which also spread to a neighbouring building.

No injuries were reported and it's thought the cause was accidental.

Crews are back on scene on Wednesday morning to inspect the damage.
