THE city will take part in “The World’s Big Sleep Out” this December in a bid to raise awareness on homelessness.
With an aim of raising £50 million the event will take place on Saturday, December 7 in 50 locations around the world, including at Hove Lagoon.
Research by the Institute of Global Homelessness shows that figures have reached a new level with more than a 100 million people homeless and displaced around the world, so celebrities, sports personalities and local families are coming together to raise awareness.
The local beneficiary for the event will be Sussex Homeless Support who will receive 50 per cent of all funds raised which will go straight back into helping the local area.
The other 50 per cent will go to global homelessness charities helping homeless and displaced people around the world.
