A HOLOCAUST survivor who went looking for love on a national TV show may have found a new partner.
Dorit Oliver, from Eastbourne, went on Channel 4’s First Dates Hotel last week hoping to find someone special.
And she may have done that in the form of her date, John.
The 83-year-old was paired up with the 82-year-old from Andover, at the show’s hotel in Naples, Italy.
Over the course of dinner Dorit told John about her early life, hiding from the Nazi’s in war-torn Hungary.
Speaking to The Argus last week she explained how she had hidden in a cellar for nine months, with her mother, to evade the Nazi SS.
And on the show, when she told John about her exploits, he got very emotional.
“He had tears in his eyes,” Dorit said.
She added that the pair had a lovely time and seemed to connect well.
She said: “There is a connection there, it was easy to talk to each other.
“We are from the same era and neither of us is good on the computer.
“I asked him if he would be my toyboy and he said yes, but I think I need to explain to him what a toyboy is.
“After dinner we went to sit in the hotel garden, it was a little bit chilly so he gave me his blanket.
“We have met up a couple of times since. He has driven all the way to Eastbourne from Andover to meet me for lunch.”
