A BRIGHTON and Hove taxi has been spotted more than 1,500 miles away.

The cab's trademark colours were spotted by a traveller in Northern Albania this month.

The man, who took the above picture, commented: "I'm sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation but why is there a Brighton and Hove taxi being used in Northern Albania?"

Streamline Taxis was contacted for comment.

The distance between Brighton and Albania is about 1,700 miles and would take about 28 hours to drive.

According to Better Taxi, a fare calculator website, a taxi fare is calculated by adding an initial £2.80 charge to the price per minute - estimated to be 33p.

This would make the journey to Albania cost about £550 - although that excludes factors such ferries, overnight stops and, of course, the driver's ride home.
