A BUS stop blew over during today's extreme weather.
The structure near the Meridian Centre in Peacehaven was toppled by the strong winds sometime this afternoon.
A picture of the scene, taken at 3.30pm, shows the wooden bus stop lying on its side in the grass.
A resident, who has been campaigning for a sturdier structure for more than a year, said: "I'm disgusted, there could have been a child or a pensioner in the bus stop, they could have been injured.
"For it to blow over in the wind - is it not pinned down?
"Questions need to be answered."
The stop is a replacement for the previous structure which was destroyed by a car in the summer of 2017.
