A PUBLIC vote will decide who is the best animal photographer in the county.

Drusillas Park, in Alfriston, has announced the finalists for its photographer of the year awards.

There are three categories – 12 years and under, 13 to 17, and 18 years and above.

The winner in each category will receive a family ticket of four to the wildlife park and a special certificate to go with it.

Drusillas selected the chosen shortlist from more than 200 entries, with just five images selected in each category.

Drusillas director Cassie Poland said: “We have been absolutely inundated with entries and we have been sent some beautiful photos.

“I can tell you this, the competition is hot – there are some truly wonderful photos in the final.

“Some of the photos have been voted for hundreds of times already.

“We can’t work out which photo will win – the standard is incredibly high, particularly in the 12 and under category.

“We definitely have more than a few budding photographers on our hands.”
