A GROUP of illustrators has won a coveted award.

Peepshow, a collective of University of Brighton students who graduated in 1998/99, won the Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction at the News and Documentary Emmy Awards.

They earned the honour for their work on Inside North Korea’s Dynasty, a four-part documentary which was broadcast on the National Geographic television channel.

The show examines the history of North Korea, telling the story of a family’s power through three generations.

Pete Mellor, Miles Donovan and Luke Best created all the animated graphic sequences for the series.

In a statement, they said: “It was a huge challenge to illustrate the various stories about North Korea, so we are especially happy to see the work recognised.”

This is the second time they have scooped the award. The group won an Emmy for their work on the series How We Got to Now in 2015.
