A DOUBLE decker bus was badly damaged and a truck left the road in a crash.
The front corner of the bus was crumpled inwards exposing machinery underneath and the metal frame of the vehicle was left warped.
Several windows were shattered and large cracks spread across the windscreen.
The van left the road and was seen nose down in an area of shrubbery.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "We were informed at 9.20am of a collision involving a van and a bus on the A26 at Clay Hill, near Lewes.
"A van driver sustained minor injuries."
The bus involved was a number 29 service, part of the Brighton and Hove Buses fleet.
This travels on the Regency route between Churchill Square in Brighton and Royal Victoria Place in Tunbridge Wells.
A Brighton and Hove Buses spokeswoman confirmed the incident and said that no passengers were injured.
