RAIL bosses have begun clearing leaves from railway lines for the autumn.
Network Rail said thousands of tonnes of leaves fall on to the tracks every autumn.
Special rail clearing trains are now ready to clear Sussex’s rails.
A spokesman said: “Our seasonal track treatment machines and vehicles are ready and waiting. They will water-jet the track with enough pressure to cut through metal.”
