A PENSIONER remains in hospital after suffering serious injuries in a crash.
Police were called to the A24 at Dial Post at 4.15pm on Tuesday when two cars crashed.
The collision involved a VW Golf, and a Fiat Panda on the southbound carriageway.
An 83-year-old man from Burgess Hill was left trapped in the Fiat and had to be cut free from the wreckage by fire crews.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.
Meanwhile a driver and passenger in the Volkswagen , both men aged 29 and 36 from Steyning, suffered minor injuries.
There were lengthy delays as police investigated the crash, and the road was closed until 8.30pm before the scene was cleared.
Now officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed or have footage of the crash or the moments leading up to it to report information.
