A MAN has had the planned date of the UK’s departure from the EU tattooed on his stomach.

The St George’s Cross tattoo is emblazoned with the words “B-Day” along with the October 31 date.

Funny-man Ruari Barrett – also known as his alter ego Graham Staines, a Brexit die-hard – had the tattoo done at his home in Old Steine, Brighton.

The satirist said: “I am that certain we are going to leave the EU on the 31st of October that I’ve gone and got this tattoo.

“It’s B-Day isn’t it? Brexit day. It stands for Brexit, it stands for Britain, it stands for Boris, it stands for back off Brussels.

“I’m paraphrasing here but God said something like ‘Noah, if you build that ark, animals will get on it’ and he said to me ‘Graham, if you get that tattoo, we will definitely crash out without a deal’.

“Something which I am looking forward to.

“Come the 31st of October, someone is going to be looking silly.”

Ruari’s persona Graham is a central character in the spoof news network Hey News.

The group of comedians mock national politics and local issues in a series of short mockumentaries for social media.

Previous creations include a “death cult” who follow Nigel Farage and a group of conspiracy theorists who believe the M25 is straight.

Asked whether he would be getting the tattoo removed, Ruari said: “I think something like this, there’s no going back from.

“Like Brexit.”

The UK is set to leave the European Union at 11pm on October 31.

It was originally due to happen in March this year, two years after the triggering of Article 50.

But the deadline for leaving has since been delayed twice.
