POSTAL workers have voted for a national strike in a row over pay and conditions.

In a ballot of more than 100,000 Royal Mail workers, 97.7 per cent of Communication Workers Union members have voted for a strike.

Union officials claimed the Royal Mail Group was not honouring an agreement made with the union over pay and pensions.

General Secretary Dave Ward demanded Royal Mail enter into “serious negotiations”.

The date for the strikes has not yet been confirmed.
