FORMER Brighton and Hove Albion skipper Bruno Salter has donated £15,000 to charities, a percentage of the profits from a pre-season friendly with Valencia at the Amex.
Bruno gave £4,600 to Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice, at Angmering, which provides care services and community support for children and young people with progressive life-shortening conditions.
The same amount went to the Common Goal charity, of which Bruno is already a member. He regularly donates one per cent of his salary to the project launched by Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, whose members include Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, US international Megan Rapinhoe and Albion’s Leon Balogun.
The balance of £5,800 will be donated to a football school in Chad run by Bruno’s father to help educate pupils using the power of football.
Albion won the Valencia match 2-1, with goals from Glenn Murray and Shane Duffy.
