A MEAT thief has been jailed after pilfering nearly £1,000 worth of goods.
Robert Cole targeted the Co-op store in Lewes Road, stealing lamb shops, steaks, chicken, beef joints, and chicken.
The 34-year-old appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court where he admitted 21 thefts between June and August this year.
Most were at the Co-op in Lewes Road, but he also targeted the store in Blatchington Road and Church Road. Sainsbury’s stores in Western Road and Portland Road were also targeted, along with Superdrug in London Road.
Cole, of no fixed address, was jailed for 44 weeks.
