'Man tries to pull schoolgirl, 12, into transit van'
A MAN tried to pull a 12-year-old girl into a van, it has been reported.
The incident happened near Lewes town centre on Tuesday afternoon.
Lewes Priory School has issued out a warning following the incident.
It said: "We have been alerted to a possible abduction attempted near the town centre of Lewes.
"A student, from another school, reported that a man in a grey transit and attempted to pull her into the vehicle.
"This has been reported to the police and we are informed there will be extra patrols around.
"If you see anything suspicious please report to the police."
