A MAN brought a young foreign student back to his house and raped her.
Police have now released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
The 17-year-old girl had been sitting on a bench in Old Steine Gardens, Brighton, when a man approached her.
He began to talk to her then took her back to his house, which is believe to be in the North Laine area, where she was raped.
The man is English, white, tall and slim, and police say he has the ability to speak Spanish and Italian.
The incident happened at about 11.30am on July 22.
Detective Constable Suzy MacLintock of the Brighton Safeguarding Investigations Unit said: “Our enquiries began immediately after this was reported to us and, although there have been some difficulties in engaging with and supporting the victim - who returned home to Spain at the end of her English language course later the same month - we have found images of this man who we believe may be responsible.
“If you think you recognise him, please get in touch with us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 900 of 22/07.”
