A ELDERLY woman has been seriously injured after being hit by a Mercedes-Benz.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the collision near the to the Co-Op store in High Street, Hurstpierpoint, on Firday.
The elderly local woman, who was using a four-wheeled stroller, was hit by a Mercedes-Benz Vito van shortly before 5pm.
She was taken by ambulance to the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.
She is now at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where she is now being treated for serious head injuries.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "She is in a stable condition.
"Anyone who saw what happened, who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage of the incident, or who has other relevant information is asked to contact Sussex Police online or by phoning 101, quoting serial 1185 of 18/10."
