A PERFORMANCE at a family resort fell flat after part of the set toppled over while a woman was still attached to it.

A woman was strapped to a spinning circle as part of the knife-throwing act but the prop fell mid-way through the act.

A video of the incident, which happened at the Butlins resort in Bognor, circulated online.

In it a man can be seen throwing a knife at the rapidly rotating board.

But, as he turns away to perform a jig, the wheel falls forward on top of the woman who remains strapped to it.

Several people rush to help her, including one man dressed in a striped poncho, before the curtains are closed on the performers.

Yesterday a Butlins spokesman told the Sun Online: “Thankfully nobody sustained injuries and the show continued shortly afterwards.

“It’s an act that visits our resorts and many other large venues around the country.

“They are due to be on stage again this evening including the performer who was involved in the unfortunate accident.”
