FIRE crews rescued three people from a burning bungalow.
They were called to Lee Way in Newhaven at 11.20pm on Tuesday.
Three men inside had to be taken to hospital, while a firefighter also needed medical help for a minor injury.
The service confirmed three dogs were also brought to safety.
Meanwhile the service said two people were arrested for the blaze, which is being investigated.
Six engines were sent to the road, and crews left at 2.30am.
The fire service said: “Overnight we dealt with a fire in a bungalow in Lee Road, Newhaven.
“Three men were rescued from the building and have been taken to hospital.
“A firefighter is receiving medical attention for a minor injury and three dogs were also rescued.
“Two persons were arrested by fire service personnel.
“The fire was at a domestic property, the cause is currently unknown at this time, but it is under investigation.”
