A MOTORIST had to be cut free from the wreckage of a car crash on a coast road.

Ambulance crews and firefighters were called to the A259 at Rustington at the junction with Mill Lane at 9.50pm on Wednesday.

Two fire crews from Littlehampton were sent, and were joined by a specialist rescue crew from Worthing.

Pictures from the scene show a white car damaged in the crash.

It is understood the crash involved three vehicles.

The fire service said: “We were called to the scene at 9.50pm by the ambulance service.

“Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate a person from a vehicle. They were left in the care of the ambulance service.

“We left the scene at 10.30pm.”

The ambulance service has been contacted for comment.
