A PROLIFIC thief has been jailed for his latest crime spree.
Dean McCarthy was arrested by police for offences in Hastings and Fairlight.
The unemployed 45-year-old admitted 11 charges when he appeared before Brighto Magistrates’ Court.
Police say he caused “numerous problems” and “distress” to people in the community.
The offences included fraud, burglary, shoplifting, and bail offences.
McCarthy, of Broadway, Fairlight, was jailed for six months.
Police Sergeant Rob Hanson said: “This individual caused numerous problems and distress to local people but he is now off the streets until the New Year.”
