A KNIFE-CARRYING thug has been put behind bars.
Kelvin Giscombe had denied possessing a bladed article in Eastbourne.
The unemployed 49-year-old appeared before Brighton Crown Court.
He was accused of trying to get rid of a five inch knife in the early hours of January 19 at Seaside, Eastbourne by a witness.
The jury found him guilty on October 29 after a trial.
Giscombe, of no fixed address, was jailed for one year because it was the third time he was convicted of having a blade in public.
Eastbourne PC Dave Elliott said: “Carrying knives on the street is never acceptable and this case serves to emphasise the fact that it will not be tolerated.”
