A MUCH-LOVED kitchen has closed its doors for the final time after 15 years of service.

The Thai kitchen at The Office pub shut on Saturday ahead of a renovation later this month.

A spokesman for the pub in Sydney Street, Brighton, said: “We are devastated to announce that, after 15 glorious years, our Thai kitchen will be closing for good.

“The pub will also be closing for refurbishment on Monday Nov 11 and will reopen in December with a completely new look.”

Owners invited customers along to its final day of trading on Sunday, but “due to unforeseen circumstances” it did not open, making Saturday its last day.

The Office is one of three pubs managed by pub company Pleisure which will be handing their keys back to the landlord company, the Ei Group, after losing a legal battle for Pleisure to continue managing the pubs.

Mr Griffin, managing director of Pleisure, said he expects them to be under the control of the Ei Group’s Bermondsey Pubs by the end of the year.
