STAFF at two sixth-form colleges will strike for a second time and demand more funding for education.

National Eduction Union members at Bhasvic in Hove and Varndean College in Brighton will down tools today.

The union’s joint-general secretary Kevin Courtney said teachers believed strikes were necessary to “save” colleges.

“Funding cuts have had a savage impact on pay, conditions and jobs and have driven far too many colleges towards merger or closure. ,” he said.
