THE air ambulance has been called after a horror crash on a roundabout in the early hours.
Police have closed part of the A22 after the collision which involved a van, a lorry and a car.
A Sussex Roads Police spokesman said: “Drivers are being asked to avoid the Lampool roundabout on the A22 north of Maresfield, near Uckfield, following a collision involving a van, lorry and car.
“It happened at 6.15am and an air ambulance is in attendance. Road closures are in place.”
An AA spokesman said the road was closed between the B2026 and Old Forge Lane.
Sussex Police provided an update at about 12pm.
A spokesman said: "The incident on the A22 Lampool roundabout at Maresfield earlier today in which a lorry driver was seriously hurt and which led to several roads in the area being closed has now been cleared.
"Roads re-opened shortly after 11am.
"Thanks to motorists for your patience."
