TEACHERS at two universities have voted to strike for eight days over pensions, pay, and working conditions.
Hundreds of University and College Union members at the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton will take strike action from November 25 to December 4.
Once they return to work, staff will begin "action short of a strike" when they return to work, including not covering absent colleagues and refusing to reschedule lectures lost to striek action.
Union general secretary Jo Grady said "enough is enough".
"‘The first wave of strikes will hit institutions later this month unless universities start talking to us seriously about how they are going to deal with rising pension costs and declining pay and conditions," she said.
Teachers at the University of Sussex agreed to strike over pay, conditions, and pensions.
Meanwhile staff at the University of Brighton voted to strike over pay and conditions, but rejected action over pensions.
No dates for possible strikes have been announced yet.
