A SEAL has been spotted relaxing on a Sussex beach, but beachgoers have been warned not to approach it.
Littlehampton Coastguard said it had been made aware of the cute creature resting on Felpham beach, near Bognor.
A spokesman said there was no concern for the animal’s health but it asked beachgoers not to approach it.
“Seals are generally quite relaxed mammals but they can bite if provoked,” he said.
“Approaching the seal could also cause unnecessary stress.
“We would like to ask people not to approach the animal and to ensure that, if you have a dog, it is kept on a leash.
“Both the RSPCA and British Divers Marine Life Rescue are aware of the seal and its location and are currently not concerned for the animal’s wellbeing.”
