THERE are dozens of Remembrance Day services being held across the county this weekend and on Armistice Day.

Here are some of the events being held to commemorate the two world wars and conflicts since.

Commemorations around the county, all on Sunday unless otherwise stated:

Brighton
There will be a blessing in the Garden of Remembrance at Woodvale Crematorium at 11am today.
On Sunday a short service will be held at 9am by the Royal Sussex Regiment Memorial in Regency Square.
At 11am a parade will depart from Madeira Drive towards the Old Steine War Memorial for a service and wreath-laying ceremony.
On Monday there will be a two-minute silence at 11am attended by the deputy mayor at the war memorial in Old Steine.

Hove
There will be a service at the war memorial in Grand Avenue, Hove, and a wreath-laying ceremony at 2.30pm on Sunday.  
It replaces part of the traditional service at All Saints Church, The Drive.
At Hove Cemetery, Old Shoreham Road, a short wreath-laying ceremony will take place first at the North Gate Memorial at 11am, followed by the same ceremony at the South Gate Memorial.
At 4.30pm the Brighton and Hove branch of the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women will hold a service at the Hove Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Holland Road.

Portslade
A wreath-laying ceremony will take place at 11am at the Easthill Park Memorial on Sunday. There will then be refreshments in St Nicholas Church Hall.

Billingshurst
The parade will form up in Frenches Mead at 10am ready to march to St Mary’s Parish Church at 10.30am. There is a wreath-laying service at the war memorial. There is also a service at Wisborough Green church at 6.30pm.

Bognor
There is a traditional Remembrance Sunday service at the War Memorial with hymns and poppy wreath laying at 10.50am. There will be a short parade from Place St Maur at 10.30am.

Burgess Hill
The parade will start at 10.25am from Cyprus Road car park. After the wreath laying at the War Memorial there will be a Service of Remembrance at St John’s Church. On Monday there will be a service at the town war memorial at 11am.

Crawley and District
A parade musters at 9.30am at the Army Reserve Centre, Kilnmead, Northgate. There is a service at St John the Baptist Church, High Street, at 10.40am. There is a service at 3pm at the war memorial outside  St Michael’s Church, Lowfield Heath, and a Remembrance service at St John’s Copthorne.

Ditchling
A Remembrance parade leaves the Scout Hut, East End Lane, Ditchling, at 10.40am. The act of Remembrance and service will be held at Ditchling War Memorial. 

Eastbourne
A civic Remembrance service attended by the mayor of Eastbourne and services organisations will take place at the War Memorial Roundabout, Cornfield Road, Eastbourne, starting with a march from the pedestrianised precinct at 10.20am. 


Hastings
Muster at the Town Hall at 10.15am for a 10.30 march. Veterans can join the parade at Morrison’s car park. The service and wreath laying takes place at the war memorial in Alexandra Park.

Haywards Heath
Parade and service at 10.45am, meeting at Muster Green.
Horsham
The parade will start at 10.30am from Edwin Hall, for the act of Remembrance at 11am. The parade then proceeds down the Causeway to St Mary’s Church for the service and marches back to Edwin Hall. On Monday there will be a Remembrance ceremony in the Carfax for 11am.

Lancing
A Remembrance service at St Mary’s church ends shortly after 11am, followed by a parade to the war memorial in Church Lane where there will be a two-minute silence. There will be a wreath laying at War Memorial, South Street at 2.45pm and at 3pm there will be a service at St Michael and All Angels Church followed by a parade.

Lewes
A parade forms in White Lion Lane and sets off at 2.30pm. A service and wreath laying at the memorial at takes place at 2.40pm, and there is a service at St Michael’s Church at 3.15pm. On Monday an Armistice Day service at the memorial will see the last post played at 11am followed by a two minute silence.
 
Lindfield
Wreaths will be laid at the war memorial in Lindfield at 2.45pm. This will be followed by a service at 3pm at All Saints Church. There will be a parade from the church to the King Edward Hall in Lindfield for refreshments.

Littlehampton
The parade and service will muster by the town clock in the High Street at 10.30am. A short service including the laying of the wreaths and a two-minute silence will be held at the war memorial at 11am, and the parade will move to St Mary’s Church for another service.

Newhaven
The service at St Michael’s Church is expected to start at 9.45am. Following the service, the parade will form up in Neill’s Close.  At 11am there will be a two minute silence at Memorial Green followed by prayers and wreath laying.

Newhaven Fort
There will be a Remembrance Day Service officiated by the Bishop of Lewes for members of the motorcycle, scooter and trike community on Sunday from 10.30 to 11.30am. Riders will set off from Madeira Drive, Brighton. 
Peacehaven
A service will take place at 11am at the Memorial in Meridian Park, next to the Co-op at the Meridian Centre.  Muster at 10.30 at the Joff next to the Meridian Centre in Peacehaven.

Plumpton
Meet at the  Scout HQ in North Barnes Lane at 10.30am for the parade. If people are not able to manage the distance to All Saints Church, the parade may be joined at Westgate.The service round the memorial will start at 10.55am.

Ringmer
Meet in the village car park behind the shops at 10.30am behind the band for a service at the Memorial. There is a short service and two minutes silence at 11am on Monday.

Rottingdean
There will be a parade up the High Street. Commemorations will be from 11.30am on the green.

Sedlescombe
The Remembrance Service is in St John The Baptist Church at 10.30am. Wreaths are laid inside the church.

Shoreham
Preparations kick off at 9.30am for a service at 10am and a wreath laying ceremony at the war memorial.

Southwick Green
A parade leaves Southwick Square car park at 10.30am and there is a service at the war memorial on Southwick Green at 11am.

Steyning
There is a Remembrance service at St Andrew’s and St. Cuthman’s Church at 10.45am as well as a short service and wreath laying at Memorial Garden, Mill Road 10.45am on Monday.

Storrington
Muster for the village parade at 2.30pm at Waitrose bus stop. There is a service at St Mary’s church at 3pm. On Monday, assemble outside the White Horse Hotel by the Roll of Honour at 10.50am for prayers and two minute silence.

Worthing
The annual Remembrance Service and march will take place at the War Memorial, outside Worthing Town Hall in Chapel Road. The two minutes silence will start on the first stroke of the town hall clock at 11am.
