HIXON Green has acquired a new site.

The New York-style café and wine bar will take over the former Aqua Restaurant in Lewes.

Hixon Green’s primary operation is in Church Road, Hove, and the brand plans to expand further.

A spokesman said: “We are very excited to bring our brand to Lewes as we feel our New York-inspired space offering great coffee, quality brunch, through to evening menus and a super cocktail and wine list, will complement the mix of strong local independent operators alongside high street operators that thrive in this busy town.”

The Lewes site is next to Loungers’ Fuego in a modern development which forms part of the Premier Inn.

Hixon Green said the cafe/restaurant will have a modern feel and “will provide informal luxury to visitors and residents alike, a haven and meeting place for friends and families”.

Hixon Green also plans to open another site in Brighton in 2020.

Kate Dowd of leisure property specialists Fleurets, represented the business in the acquisition.

She said: “The guys at Hixon Green have a clear plan for a considered expansion and critical to this is to secure exactly the right units in the right locations to cement their brand in the marketplace.”
