A RUNNER who went missing after competing in the New York City marathon last week has been found.
Christopher Ruane from Uckfield, disappeared after the race on Sunday and authorities were "very concerned" for his welfare.
But Sussex Police said the 51-year-old has now been found and spoken to by New York Police Department.
The force tweeted: "Pleased to be able to tell everyone that missing #Uckfield man Christopher Ruane, 51, has been found and spoken to by the New York Police Department."
It added: "He is safe and well. Thank you to all who shared our concerns for his well-being and for RTs."
Mr Ruane went missing after finishing the 26.2-mile race in 6 hours, 57 minutes and 32 seconds.
He was supposed to fly back on Monday but fears were raised when he missed his flight and could not be contacted.
It is not clear where Mr Ruane has been but it is thought he may have been in Manhattan and Astoria, Queens.
