A NEW mural dedicated to Albion legend Bruno Saltor has been met with mixed response.
The new artwork in Ditchling Road depicts the former captain with the quote: "Once a Seagull, always a Seagull".
It was painted after a competition run by Brighton-based The Stag Company.
While most were pleased to see a new tribute to the right back, some were not convinced.
One Twitter user simply said: "Yikes."
Another wrote: "Has Bruno had a stroke or something?"
A third added: "That’s almost as good as this masterpiece of Ronaldo," in reference to the bronze bust of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo that was ridiculed on social media when it was unveiled in 2017.
But others disagreed.
One said: "It's great to have ‘El Capitan’ back!"
The mural was painted by an artist known as Glimmer Twin.
Earlier this year, a painting of the skipper on the wall of ice cream parlour Gusto Gelato in Brighton’s North Laine was removed, sparking outrage among residents and fans.
The 38-year-old called time on his career at the end of last season, retiring after seven years on the south coast.
The Spaniard is now part of Graham Potter's backroom staff.
