BREXIT will lead to more red tape at ports such as Newhaven, the Liberal Democrats claim.
The party’s candidate in Lewes Oli Henman spoke at the port and said the town faces a “nightmare scenario” of tailbacks and bureaucracy from customs checks.
He said: “We were told that one of the main reasons for Brexit was that it would lead to a large reduction in ‘red-tape’.
“The reality is that any Brexit will lead to a huge increase in bureaucracy at our ports.”
