TWO brave police officers helped save a woman from drowning in the sea.
Brighton response PCs Magdalena Strycharska and Tara Bernard were called to the beach to respond to the 999 call.
At first the description of where the woman was was vague, but PC Bernard was able to find the right location.
Then after a coastguard had gone into the water and suffered fatigue, PC Strycharska managed to pull them both to safety.
The officers have been nominated in the BBC Sussex Community Heroes Awards.
BBC Sussex assistant editor Mark Carter said: “We received another wonderful collection of stories and our judges faced a monumental task in choosing the finalists.
“These awards remain a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the amazing people making a really positive difference in the local area.”
All nominees will attend a ceremony at the Gatwick Crowne Plaza Hotel on Monday, November 25 where the winners will be revealed.
