LABOUR activists are “going a little mad” at people outside Brighton Pavilion who think they are voting for Caroline Lucas.

Activists have put out a statement aimed at people in Moulsecoomb and Bevendean to tell them they cannot vote for Caroline Lucas because they are not in her constituency and should vote Labour instead.

They said: “If you plan on voting in Brighton, please check what constituency you live in – there are two.

“Going a little made at hearing people telling me ‘I’m voting for Caroline Lucas’ when they don’t live in Brighton Pavilion (safe Green) but in Brighton Kemptown (Labour marginal).

“A vote for the Greens in Kemptown can inadvertently lead to a Tory gain, just like it did in 2010 and 2015.”
