WE’RE nearly in December and various meteorologists have predicted when and where it will snow across the UK.

Although most people do not enjoy the adverse conditions brought about by winter, it’s important to be prepared.

A concern that many residents share is whether or not their local roads or routes to school and work will be gritted.

Brighton and Hove City Council has revealed their gritter lorries are at the ready and on standby for harsh winter conditions.

They run a winter highways service from the beginning of November until the end of March, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hundreds of tonnes of salt is readily available for when the weather turns.

To find out if your route will be gritted and protected from the cold front, check out these maps of the gritting routes above.
