THE seafront road is closed following a serious collision.
It is believed three people may have been knocked down by a car.
Marine Parade is taped off between Palace Pier and Rock Gardens. There is a heavy police presence at the scene.
A black Ford is being examined by detectives outside the Amsterdam Hotel.
Clothes and at two pairs of shoes were stwen across the road. Dozens of officers and at least seven police vehicles are at the Pier roundabout.
The cordon stretches as far as Camelford Street.
Highways traffic reports state: "A259 closed both ways severe accident, between A23 Old Steine and Lower Rock Gardens.
"A259 Marine Parade in Brighton closed in both directions between Palace Pier and the Lower Rock Gardens junction, because of an accident."
