A NEW supermarket will open its doors on the day of the General Election.
Lidl’s latest store will open in Horsham on December 12.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 8am at the shop in Foundry Lane.
Lidl’s regional head of property James Mitchell said the opening would bring dozens of jobs to Horsham.
“We can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community,” he said.
“It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area.”
The store features an in-store bakery and long tills with “dual packing”.
To celebrate the opening, customers will be able to sample award-winning Lidl products next Thursday.
And exclusive deals will be on offer during the shop’s first week.
Customers will be able to snap up a £14.99 power sander for £7.99, a £119 dehumidifier for £69, and a £49.99 toaster and kettle set for £19.99.
A Lidl spokesman said it hoped to open many more stores in the future.
“Lidl has experienced continued growth over the years as consumers flock to the supermarket,” he said.
