A PRIMARY school has been given a “good” rating following an inspection from Ofsted.

Inspectors visited St Mary Magdalen Catholic Primary School in Spring Street, Brighton, on November 13 and 14.

They gave it the second highest rating in all five of the categories it uses to rate a school’s performance.

The Ofsted report into the school said: “This is a highly inclusive, multicultural school, where pupils mix well together.

“Leaders have created a culture of care where all children are welcomed and embraced.

“Leaders ensure that everything is done to help new families and to make them feel part of the school community.”

To improve to the highest possible rating, “outstanding”, the report said: “Leaders have made a good start in reviewing and updating the curriculum, with work to develop history and science well under way.

“Some subjects are yet to be revisited.”
