A FOOD festival will make its first appearance in the South East next year.

Pub In The Park will be in Chichester from May 29 until May 31, subject to its licence being granted.

The family-friendly festival, which is a “celebration of everything there is to love about the glorious British pub” is presented by Michelin-starred TV chef Tom Kerridge.

He will be taking his selection of the best pubs and restaurants as “pop-ups” to each venue on the festival tour, as well as live music and entertainment for children.

The star chef, who hails from Salisbury and has restaurants in London and Marlow in Buckinghamshire, said Pub In The Park was an “absolute blast” last year.

He said: “I’ve had a sneak peek at the line-up for 2020, and wow, it looks good: tasty food, more amazing chefs and awesome musicians, all in your local park.”

Each event will feature award-winning pubs and restaurants showcasing their signature dishes, as well as chef demonstrations and an artisan food market. The festival aims to provide “delicious food, award-winning chefs, chart-topping music, great drinks and above all else, a fantastic time with friends and family”.

Pub In The Park supports local culinary talent at each tour destination as well as national names in food.

A range of dishes will be available for £5 at each pop-up stand.

Steve Lane, managing director of the festival, said: “We’re thrilled at the prospect of bringing our brilliant food, drink and music festival to eight towns in 2020, including two brand new venues.

“Tom or one of his incredible band of chef friends will be hosting each festival.

“Watch out for more line-up announcements, and tickets will be on sale in January.”

The festival will be touring from May until September next year, and will be visiting parks in towns such as Tunbridge Wells, St Albans and Bath, as well as Chiswick in west London.
