POLICE in Brighton are appealing for four women who were approached and grabbed in the city centre to come forward.

At about 8.40am on Sunday morning, 22 September, in the square outside Churchill Square in Western Road, a suspect, described as black, slim, wearing a black hooded top and a black jumper with NASA on the front, blue jeans with rips and rusty colouring, and black trainers, and who appeared to have been drinking, approached the four separate women who were all unaccompanied, and put his arms around them, causing them to struggle, push free and walk away.

Detective Constable Stewart Cameron of the Brighton Safeguarding Investigations Unit said: “If you were one of the women or if you know one of them, we would like to speak to you as you may have valuable information, about what happened that morning which was clearly offensive and distressing, but also about a separate criminal investigation that is ongoing.

“If you can help, please contact us online or by calling 101, quoting serial 384 of 22/09.”

Details of the ongoing investigation are not being publicly disclosed at this time for legal reasons.
