A MAN was stabbed in a hospital ward.
Sussex Police are investigating the knife attack which happened at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton at about 6.30pm on Thursday.
The two men involved were visiting the hospital.
A 48-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and he remains in custody.
The victim, also a 48-year-old man, sustained a single wound to the abdomen during an altercation.
His injuries are not life-threatening.
The pair are known to each other.
Neither was receiving hospital treatment at the time of the attack, police say.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the attack to report it online or call them on 101 and quote serial number 1138 of 12/12.
