A PRIMARY school pupil is saving the planet one Christmas cracker at a time.
Ilona Bradley, ten, used recycled resources to create a festive bang at her school’s festive lunch.
Year 6 pupil Ilona stepped in to create the crackers after St Bartholomew’s Primary School council voiced concerned about the impact of excess plastic on the environment.
The eco-warrior, right, helped collect cardboard tubes, buying miniature sweets and printing off jokes.
The school, in Ann Street, Brighton, said she “organised the whole process from start to finish” – and even sourced the bangers.
After working through break times with her friends, she managed to provide Christmas cheer for more than 160 children.
